These works are part of an internal exploration of culturally significant iconography within the context of my Afro-Latino and New York Street Cultures.
This exploration was informed through research conducted at the Schomburg Museum as well as documentation of the imagery and iconography of my childhood. Through the deconstruction of images such as sand hills, running tracks, coffee beans, and bags of chips I constructed compositions that recontextualized my upbringing as well reclaimed my ability to define my own identity.
